Is there a charge for this? |

Yes, there is a charge for
this advertising option. A photo or business logo

| Q. |
Can
you tell me how many visitors/hits my web site gets
from my listing on your web site? |
| A. |
Unfortunately we cannot determine
how many visitors/hits your web site gets from Shared
Memories. Tracking visitors/hits to your web site is not
something we can do; we wish we could. It is something
a wedding vendor has to do on their web site.
To monitor how many visitors you get to your web site
from Shared Memories web site (as well as any other
web site that links to you), you might try one of the
following:
- Contact your web host about what kind of tracking
service they offer.
- Contact your webmaster,
who will be able to tell you how to look at your stats
to see where the visitors/hits are coming from. Your
webmaster can set up a tracking system if one is not
in place already.
- Set up tracking from a web site that offers tracking.
Below are several web sites that offer this service
of which we are aware. Some of their services
are free; check their web site for details.
- Set up a special page on your web site to which
only your listing on Shared Memories
links. Be sure you add a counter to that web
page so that you know how many visitors you get to
that web page or have some other way to track the
visitors.
Another way to find out how much of your business comes
from your listing on Shared Memories is to do what a
photographer told us she does:
She always inquires of every person
who calls her how they heard about her company.
If they tell her web pages or the Internet, she asks
on which specific web site they found a link to her.
She says that it doesn't taken even one minutes to
ask them and the client, if asked properly, never
minds. Then you know where to put your advertising
dollars.
A DJ told us that they have each bride
and groom fill out a preliminary form about their music
needs and desires. They added a question asking
where the bride and groom found them. If the bride
and grooms merely advise the Internet, they mention
some of the web sites on which they are listed; usually
the bride and groom can let them know from those suggestions.

| Q. |
I
noticed a banner for Shopping Affair at the bottom
of several wedding vendor web pages. Can I place my banner
in the same place? |
| A. |
No, special
banner placement is given to Shopping Affair because
it is a sister company of Shared Memories. Both
Shopping Affair and Shared Memories are a division of
Internet Enterprises.
